Indigenous Peoples’ Day
Today is Indigenous Peoples' Day - a holiday that celebrates and honors the cultures, contributions, and histories of Indigenous peoples in different parts of the world. The purpose of it is to recognize the rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and contributions of Native American, First Nations, and Indigenous communities while also raising awareness about the historical and ongoing injustices they have faced. Breast Cancer Awareness Month
As a woman-owned business, it would be remiss of us not to acknowledge Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. About 1 in 8 women in the United States will get it in their lifetime, and certain factors, such as race/ethnicity, play a role. For example, White women are more likely to develop breast cancer than Black, Hispanic, and Asian women. But Black women are more likely to develop more aggressive, advanced-stage breast cancer and likely to die from it.
