Get Ready For Fall With These Tips!

Hey y’all,

As we draw closer to Fall (it’s official on September 23rd), the air will become crisp, and the days will become shorter. Maintaining your health and wellness should be a year-round priority, but with fall comes unique challenges and opportunities, such as Vitamin D deficiency and decreased energy levels to name a few. Read our tips below to help you navigate the new season ahead.

Eat Seasonal Produce: Fall brings many nutritious and colorful fruits and vegetables like apples, pears, pumpkins, squash, and sweet potatoes. Incorporate these into your meals for a variety of vitamins and antioxidants. Support Washinton State’s small family farms and shop at your neighborhood farmer’s market. You can find a list of farmer’s markets HERE.

Stay Hydrated: Even though the weather is cooler, staying hydrated is essential. Drink plenty of water and consider warm beverages like herbal teas or hot water with lemon to keep yourself hydrated and warm. One of our favorite tea brands is STEEPOLOGIE, which has over 200 fresh high-quality loose-leaf teas! They are a 100% family-owned and 100% customer supported business.

Get Adequate Sleep: With shorter days, it's easy to disrupt your sleep schedule. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night to support your overall health and well-being. Turn off notifications, or put away cell phones, laptops, iPads, or any other electronic devices away an hour before bed.

Stay Connected: Fall can sometimes lead to isolation as the days get shorter. Make an effort to stay connected with friends and loved ones through social activities or regular check-ins. You can also check out your local community center for upcoming events and activities HERE.

Stay tuned for next week’s newsletter with additional tips!
