Summer’s Over, But the Fun Has Just Begun!
Although the month of August is now over, let us still make a conscious effort to continually support Black businesses year round! As summer officially ends this month, be sure to get your health in check (ahem Dr. Towolawi) before we head into fall and go out and soak up some sun with rollerskating or Double Dutch! Both are great ways to incorporate some movement!
Dr. Towolawi founded Nurture Well Center in 2021 as a space for patients to feel truly nurtured while achieving their wellness goals. Nurture Well Center is a direct primary care (DPC) practice. She believes in: 1) keeping healthy people healthy and 2) helping those who are sick get back to their optimal health. Nurture Well Center focuses on shifting your mindset away from disease and towards wellness.
Founded by Angie Mosley, Double Dutch Divas focuses on the growth and promotion of the sport of Double Dutch, educate students about how their heart works and how to stay healthy, getting the community active. In addition, double dutch teaches an invaluable lesson, there is no "I" in double dutch. In order to be successful in the rope, you must learn to work as a team and have confidence in your teammates. Teamwork makes the dream work!
Founded by Tiffany Mason, ROLL Around SEATOWN is Seattle's largest skate community. They offer local meet-ups and roller skating events for roller skaters of all skills and backgrounds. The group was created to ensure the growth of the Skate Community not only in the Seattle area but throughout the entire Northwest! Make sure to check out their list of upcoming events HERE!
Cheers,
Team Indigo Movement
