Embrace Fall with Wellness: Your Guide to a Healthier Season

As the crisp air and golden hues of fall arrive, it’s the perfect time to slow down, reconnect with nature, and prioritize your well-being! Whether you're sipping a warm cup of tea, taking a brisk walk around Lake Washington, or spending more time at home, there are countless ways to make this season one of wellness. In this newsletter, we share our favorite tips and routines to help you feel your best this fall!

Nourish Your Body with Seasonal Foods

Fall brings a bounty of seasonal produce packed with nutrients. Think pumpkins, squash, apples, and sweet potatoes! These foods are not only delicious but also rich in vitamins and minerals that boost your immune system. For example, pumpkins are rich in beta-carotene (which converts to vitamin A in the body), they support healthy skin, vision, and immune function. They also contain a good amount of fiber, which aids digestion and keeps you feeling full longer. Add roasted pumpkin seeds to salads, blend it into smoothies, or enjoy it in a comforting pumpkin soup

Create a Cozy and Calming Home Environment

As the days get shorter, transform your home into a haven of tranquility! Introduce elements like warm-toned throws, soft lighting, and essential oils like cedarwood or eucalyptus to create a calming atmosphere. Scent has a powerful effect on our mood and emotions. Cedarwood has a grounding, woodsy scent that can help calm the mind and promote relaxation, while eucalyptus has a refreshing, cleansing aroma that can help clear the air and promote a sense of calm. Use a diffuser, or place a few drops of essential oil on a cotton ball and tuck it into your pillowcase for a subtle, long-lasting scent.

Practice Joyful Movement

The cooler weather is an excellent opportunity to mix up your fitness routine. Consider activities like climbingstairs, taking a warm mobility class, or even dancing around your living room! The key is to find movement that brings you joy and keeps you energized. Here’s a fun challenge for you: commit to 30 Minutes of Movement a Day! Whether it's a morning stretch, an afternoon walk, or an evening barre session, prioritize movement that makes you feel good.
