Movimiento Afrolatino Seattle (MÁS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, community-based organization founded by Afro-Latino communities and artists dedicated to celebrating and preserving Afro-Latino art and culture. MÁS focuses on sustaining educational and cultural initiatives that highlight Afro-Latino heritage while welcoming all who are interested in exploring and preserving this vibrant cultural legacy. Through art, MÁS activates and empowers communities, raising awareness about the history and cultural contributions of Afro-descendant Latinos to promote social change and racial equity. Bailadores de Bronce promotes the beauty and richness of Mexican traditions through music and dance in the Pacific Northwest. Rehearsals happen weekly and are entirely free and open to the public. (No prior dance experience is required.) During classes, instructors teach dancers of varying abilities the dance steps and choreography to songs from many regions of Mexico. They create a bridge of understanding among all people by sharing their culture, preserving our traditions, and instilling pride in our youth. Learn how you can support them HERE.
The Seattle Latino Film Festival (SLFF) is the Pacific Northwest's only competitive festival dedicated to authentic Latin American cinema. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit, SLFF celebrates films highlighting Latin American and Romance Language cultures, promoting cultural diversity and understanding through documentaries, feature films, shorts, and interactive events like filmmaker Q&As and panel discussions. They partner with prominent organizations, including the City of Seattle Office of Arts and Culture, Seattle Art Museum, Microsoft, and international film festivals such as Berlinale and Cinélatino in France. With over 1,000 annual attendees, the festival engages a diverse and socially conscious audience, amplifying Spanish, Portuguese, and Indigenous voices in cinema. Learn how you can support them HERE.
