How to Get That Spring Glow
Everyone wants glow-y, dewy-looking skin - it's a sign of health and happiness!
But unless you're a baby, that doesn't just happen on its own. To show the freshest skin, you'll need to exfoliate your face and body, especially after working out!
For your body
With spring comes warmer weather so you'll probably be sweating more and your dead skin is going to mix with your sweat and oil. For your body, focus on your elbows, the back of your arms, ankles, and knees since these areas tend to get overlooked. I love using anything that has sugar to exfoliate because it's a lot gentler than apricot which can be abrasive. (One of my favorite scrubs is Madrona House Apothecary's Amethyst Sugar Shea Butter Scrub.) Apply your scrub of choice with strokes on your arms and legs and don't forget your butt.
For your face
Now don't forget to also exfoliate your face! After all, it's what you show to the world! Exfoliating your face is one of the most gratifying things you can do for yourself and it's become a part of my weekly ritual. Exfoliating your face revs up circulation in your skin, and just by bringing blood to the surface, you'll have healthier skin. However, don't overdo it! Signs of over-exfoliating are flaky, irritated, or red skin. (And yes, a small amount of color is fine after exfoliation, but your skin shouldn't like a stop sign!)
Lastly, after you exfoliate your face and body make sure to moisturize - my favorite part! A great way to self massage and keep your skin constantly glowing!
