Running My Race: Lessons in Pacing, Projections, and Progress

It's funny how everyone wants you to be more or less than what you see for yourself. It's a fine line between having these comments be taken as encouragement or projections. 2024 reinforced the lesson to run my race at my pace, regardless of the noise. And yes, the noise can be well-intentioned.

Let’s rewind to 2021. Despite being in a pandemic, Indigo Movement is still thriving (thanks to clients like YOU!). I had confided in a few trusted individuals about my need for significant funding for my business. This additional capital would take Indigo Movement into the digital age, where the money resides. Some of these individuals envisioned a very specific and limited path for Indigo Movement’s growth—one that didn’t align with my own vision. Since their visions of Indigo Movement weren't aligned with mine, I started to observe the practice of gatekeeping to funding opportunities.

Fast forward to 2024, and the words of encouragement and projections continue. What helps me quiet and decipher through the noise are my daily practices. All my practices are centered on regular fellowship with my intuition, discernment, and understanding of the power of pacing. My pace is structured around moving with the seasons: winter, a time to reflect and plan; spring, a time to celebrate and recommit; summer, a time to execute and play; and fall, a time for harvest and admire the fruits of my labor.

I’m proud of everything I achieved last year: expanding my office, having my first nationally recognized board-certified continuing education course, and taking a well-deserved month off to travel and simply exist! The opportunity to travel and spend meaningful time with my family and close friends was exactly what I needed. Other highlights included, teaching at my first massage conference and solidifying my role as a wellness consultant for well-being retreats.

Over the past seven years, with the dedication and support of my incredible team, we’ve accomplished remarkable milestones together. Seven is often seen as a symbol of completion, and with that in mind, Indigo Movement has officially closed its first chapter, paving the way for the next chapter currently being written.

Love,
