Black Businesses To Support

Hey y’all,

As you know, all month long we’ll be highlighting local Black-owned businesses to support and/or shop throughout the year. Your money can make a difference, especially when you continuously choose to shop and support Black businesses.

Our Fabric Stash

Our Fabric Stash is a specialty consignment shop in Pike Place Market for fabrics, scraps, notions, yarn & other textile-related supplies. You can stir your creative juices, organize, share, and grow your fabric stash. Whether you’re an interior designer, sewist, quilter, knitter, crocheter, scrapbooker, beader, fiber artist, fashion designer, crafter, or student, there is something for everyone! They also host classes and workshops throughout the year and offer services such as alterations and sewing.

Healthy Creations

Healthy Creations is a plant-based private chef company started by Arielle Bangs. Her focus is on culinary anthropology, clean eating, and creating flavorful vegan and gluten-free meals that make your taste buds dance! She only uses seasonal ingredients, grown sustainably, mostly grown locally, organic, and without chemicals. Arielle is currently in the process of opening a bakery in Seattle full of vegan, gluten-free, and sugar-free baked goods and desserts.

Stretch 22

Stretch 22 was started by Olympic athlete and UW Hall of Famer Ja’Warren Hooker and sports medicine chiropractor Dr. Kris Sasaki. Their mission is to help people feel better, move better, and be better. Their specialists use hands-on, active stretching to open and expand your muscles and fascial tissue. This freedom connects the dots to help you achieve maximum performance in life and is a safe and effective addition to your everyday routine.

Plant Based Food Share

Plant Based Food Share was founded to close the gap in access to fresh, locally sourced food and agricultural education in communities that have experienced fresh food apartheid. They support low-income, underserved urban and rural communities who experience food apartheid: African American, Indigenous, Latinx, & BlPOC children, families, elders, veterans, immigrants, people with disabilities, health compromised,  and those in and fleeing from domestic violence relationships. You can support their mission by either donating or volunteering.

Cheers,
