6 More Reasons To Get Outdoors and Play

Hey yall,

Take advantage of the beautiful weather by going out and enjoying all of the outdoor activities Seattle has to offer this summer! Here’s our guide to some family-friendly outdoor activities :)

1. Chinese Dancing at Hing Hay Park

Visit Chinatown’s Hing Hay Park and learn traditional Chinese dancing, every Wednesday morning from June 7th to September 13th or practice Tai Chi (also known as Meditation in Motion) this Friday, July 14th.  Improve balance for your brain and body! It’s a free event. See more information HERE!

2. Yerbana Yoga In The Park

Seattle's largest yoga gathering returns every Thursday at 6:30pm! Summer Series Presents: Yerbana Yoga In The Park. Connect with yourself and like-minded individuals in one of our city's most iconic locations, Gas Works Park and experience the benefits of yoga with a stunning view of the Seattle skyline. 3. Roll Around Seatown

Founded in 2019, Roll Around Seatown was created for skaters, by skaters to ensure the growth of the skate community throughout the Northwest! It is a diverse, inclusive, skating community welcoming of all skate enthusiast regardless of age and skill level. The group hosts weekly social skates at Judkins Park in the Central District as well as other indoor and outdoor events throughout the year. 4. Kickboxing and Mobility with Indigo Movement

Join us this Sunday, July 16 at 11 AM on Pier 62 to celebrate summer as a community with a 60-minute full-body kickboxing and mobility class. This class will be a combination of jabs, uppercuts, and sidekicks followed by a series of movements to increase the flexibility in your joints. 5. Seattle Parks and Recreation

Did you know there are over 300 parks and 26 community centers scattered throughout the Seattle area? Some community centers have swimming pools, tennis courts, skate parks, golf courses, and kayaks for rent. Have some fun and make it a goal to visit as many parks and community centers as you can before the end of summer. Check out the local events and attractions happening near you HERE!

6. Stan S. Sayres Memorial Park

Stan S. Sayres Memorial Park has many boat launches! Not only is it the site of Seattle's famous Seafair Weekend, but it’s also the home of the Mount Baker Rowing and Sailing Center. Enjoy this park by canoe, kayak, sailboat, and more!
