Shop Local for Thanksgiving

Hey y’all,

This week is Indigenous Heritage Day (or you may like to call it Thanksgiving). Whether you’re spending it with family or friends, or deciding to spend it alone, it’s the perfect reason to go out and support local businesses! Here are some businesses that will help you save time in the kitchen!

The Flora Bakehouse, located in Seattle's Beacon Hill neighborhood is the newest sibling to the iconic vegetarian restaurant Cafe Flora and Seatac favorite Floret. They offer a selection of freshly baked pastries, a la carte sides and desserts, including mushroom and gruyere hand pies, onion rolls, and pumpkin pie.

Want to try something different? Capitol Hill’s Middle Eastern restaurant Mamnoon will change up the flavors on your table a bit with dishes like spicy roasted baby potatoes, chickpea & brassica bi-zeit! They have a Thanksgiving package and all you need to handle is the turkey.

The Woodshop BBQ (also voted Seattle’s best BBQ) in the Central District has a takeout menu for Thanksgiving that includes smoked turkey, brisket, pulled pork and jalapeño mac ‘n’ cheese. The pick up is 9 a.m.-noon on Thanksgiving Day and prices will vary.

If you haven’t hear of Hood Famous Bake Shop, you’re late in the game! Known for their Ube (purple yam) cheesecake they are ready to help you with dessert ! If purple yams are not your thing, they are also selling calamansi mango cheesecake, buko pies, or banana custard pies topped with jackfruit curd and a caramelized lumpia wrapper crumble. Order now before it runs out!

Cheers,
