Indigo Movement Turns 5

This month marks my 5th year in business. I made the decision to become my own boss in 2017 when I started MassageFit Solutions, today known as Indigo Movement. I remember feeling a mix of emotions ranging from scared, nervous, self doubt yet excited and happy at the same time. After all, I held a stable and well paying job for many years, but I always knew I wanted, and deserved more, for myself.

My business started after continually being asked by my former management team on how they could improve the care and wellness of their employees; after providing feedback I was asked to prepare a proposal and boom, my business was born! (But of course, success occurs when opportunity meets preparation, and I was already ready!)

During the start of the pandemic I used my time to not only self-reflect but also think about what the future of Indigo Movement would look like. I pivoted and offered virtual self and couple massage sessions from home in addition to offering a variety of virtual workout classes, including the revamp of my brand. And though it took a while for things to get somewhat back to normal, my business is still here and I get to wake up everyday and do what I love.

This spring, I opened my second location in Portland’s Hosford-Abernerthy neighborhood to meet the demands of my growing clientele there. Little Tiana always knew she wanted to create a household name and all I can say is that I'm living my dream!

The last 5 years has been one hell of a ride from making it to the final 5 for a local pitching competition with ventures, working with companies like WeWork and The Riveter, to receiving funding for the next 5 years to help expand Indigo Movement’s growth.

Thank YOU for being on this journey with me. I cannot wait to see how the next 5 years unfold. It’s only upward and onward from here, baby!
